Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 8 slices Bacon Crispy, chopped
  • 1 pound Ground beef Lean preferred
  • 1 medium Onion Diced
  • 4 cups Beans Canned or cooked, any variety

Equipment

  • Large skillet or pan
  • Strainer or colander
  • Large oven-safe baking dish or Dutch oven
  • Wooden spoon for stirring

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the bacon until crispy and fat is rendered. Add ground beef and diced onions, breaking up the meat as it browns. Cook until onions are translucent.
  3. Drain the mixture well to remove excess grease to prevent oily beans.
  4. Transfer the drained mixture to a large oven-safe baking dish or Dutch oven. Add the beans and mix thoroughly for even distribution.
  5. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 3 hours, stirring every 45 minutes to ensure even cooking.
